Sniper Pro Shop Training and Support
The Sniper Pro Shop was established to provide training and support as well as a line of products that support both our Sniper and Law Enforcement Rifle students. We have provided lesson plans to agencies through in-house and guest instruction since 2002 with the goal of being an affordable training provider to the SWAT and Law Enforcement community. Our Sniper School is possibly the longest running ongoing Sniper Training Program in Tennessee and is one of the most affordable and professional sniper training programs offered anywhere.
LEVEL I POLICE SNIPER
The Level I Police Sniper Training course is an intensive course for officers who have been assigned as SWAT Snipers or Tactical Marksmen. The training program addresses the three basic fundamentals of police tactical marksmanship and sniping: Marksmanship, Fieldcraft and Tactics. The course is designed as an introductory course, but also provides an opportunity for the experienced sniper to “tune-up” their skills. This course has been submitted to the Tennessee POST Commission for law enforcement in-service credit.
The Level II Advanced Police Sniper course is a continuation training program for police snipers who wish to hone their skills through special mission-oriented courses of fire as well as longer distance shooting. Advanced rural and urban stalking and camouflage as well as special shooting situations such as firing through glass and barriers are incorporated into this course. This course has been submitted to the Tennessee POST Commission for law enforcement in-service credit.
Level III Police Sniper Training, Management and Utilization
The Level III Police Sniper Course is targeted toward command and control staff that will be tasked with developing, overseeing and leading police snipers. The course revolves around the ASA Police Sniper Utilization study and will introduce non-sniper command staff to the skills and proper training of their snipers. For existing police snipers who are assigned with unit leadership, the course covers training, scheduling and tactical deployment and field management of teams as well as policy issues. This course has been submitted to the Tennessee POST Commission for law enforcement in-service credit.
Level IV Sniper Mixed Terrain Target Interdiction & Close Team Support
Developed by Denny Elliott and the High Ground Training Group, this course seeks to move the Law Enforcement Sniper from the Post Vietnam Era Training Model into a modern well rounded tactical operator. The course is based on "worst case scenario" situations such as terrorist attacks and multiple combatants. Snipers will learn to engage targets at a variety of ranges with both the .308 and 5.56 weapon systems. In the Close Team Support module, the sniper will work to learn the mobile sniper platform techniques that places a sniper element with the Tactical Element in special situations. Prerequisites: Must be an assigned SWAT or Military Sniper; Candidate must have completed a recognized Basic Sniper Course and a recognized Advanced Sniper Course prior to admission into this course.
The Law Enforcement Rifle Instructor Course is a firearms instructor development course that is designed to enhance the rifle instruction skills of the experienced Police Firearms Instructor. The course deals with the basic of fundamentals of rifle marksmanship as well as Instructional Skills, Weapon Maintenance, Weapon Retention and Course Development. The Course is centered on the AR-15 Rifle platform, but can be adapted for any similar weapon system. This course has been approved by the Tennessee POST Commission for firearms instructor development.
The Tactical Rifle Operator Course is a flexible course designed to enhance the weapon handling skills of police personnel who have rifles assigned to them as primary shoulder fired weapons. The course stresses team and partner concepts as well as abilities and limitations of the law enforcement rifle. The course will provide tactical training concepts for both Patrol and Special Operations Officers. The course will include force-on-force scenario based training.
The Tactical Handgun Operator Course is designed to improve the skills of the officer with his issued firearm. Officers will be introduced to the Responsive and Intentional Deployment weapons concepts and will learn techniques and tactics to improve his chances of not only surviving, but also winning a deadly force encounter. The course will include force-on-force scenario based training.
Many officers carry tactical folding knives on a daily basis, but most police departments do not provide any type of training program for the knife and fewer still have any kind of policy dealing with the knife. The Police Tactical Rescue Knife Course is a one-day hands-on training program designed to teach officers how to safely use the tactical folding rescue knife in daily law enforcement tasks as well as how to use the tactical folder as a “last resort” weapon. The course does not teach “knife fighting,” but provides basic fundamentals of using the tactical folding knife. The course requires participants to physically engage aggressors; utilize their own tactical folder to cut actual seatbelt material; access, draw and open the knife while in a number of positions; utilize the knife to defend their sidearm in a weapon retention situation; and addresses how to choose a patrol knife and evaluate their current knife choice.
