Thoughts
I just returned from Tullahoma, TN where Instructors SSgt. Dave Keenom, Lt. Tim Butler and I conducted our very first dedicated sniper military class for the soldiers of the 1/278 TN Army National Guard Armored Cavalry Regiment Sniper Section. We were beyond honored to get the chance to provide the initial training for these dedicated soldiers as they prepare to attend the grueling Army National Guard Sniper Course in Little Rock, AR.
This course, scheduled exclusively for the 1/278 Sniper Section, was first course of 2012 and opens a year of intense training. We have scheduled five additional sniper courses at VTS Tullahoma, including 2 Level I courses, 2 Level II courses and a Level IV course scheduled for 3 8 June. The Spring Series Level I and II Course are nearly full and slots are already being booked in the Fall Series courses. We have just released the application for the Level IV course.
Additionally, we will be doing the Level III Sniper, Leadership, Training and Utilization course in Columbia, TN, 4 6 September hosted by the Columbia P.D. and Sgt. Vince Morgan, who is one of our HGTG Cadre.
For our other tactical shooters, we will be conducting two Handgun / Carbine Tactical Operator Courses 25 28 June and 9 12 July. Registrations will be posted soon.
I will be teaching in the IALEFI Master Instructor course in Birmingham, AL 26 28 March. This is a great opportunity for LE Firearms Instructors to improve skills and get training ideas from the instructional team. For more information go to:

We have also made the decision to return to our gear roots selling predominantly Sniper Pro Shop brand gear. HISTORY
Denny Elliott began his career as a police trainer in Kentucky specializing in numerous areas of the Use of Force. He began his tactical operations and sniper career while working extra duty details with a marijuana eradication strike force team which enabled him to attend numerous specialized training courses. In 1993, Denny established Defensive Empowerment Systems as a training company for law enforcement. DES continued operations until the end of 2004. Through this company, Elliott provided training for Law Enforcement and professional security personnel as well as Handgun Permit training for civilians. In 2000, Denny entered law enforcement in Tennessee and began providing training through his own agencies as well as a number of hosting agencies, with a strong emphasis on Sniper and Law Enforcement Tactical Rifle.
MOVING FORWARD
The idea of establishing a business to enhance and support the established Sniper and LE Rifle training programs had long been on the back burner, but as product ideas came about from snipers in the field and Sniper school students, it seemed only natural to establish a product line and a business to support the training program and promotion for the courses done by Elliott and the Sniper School cadre. Elliott had developed a specialized police sniper data logbook over the years, versions of which have been provided to Basic Sniper Course students for several years. In 2007, this logbook was completed and copy written. The current edition is made of Rite in the Rain paper and is spiral bound with plastic covers. 2007 also saw the test marketing of a number of Sniper Stock Support bags. Our current bag is constructed of 1000 denier nylon and offered in a number of colors. As the business officially opened in 2008, we also began production of Kydex tactical products on a custom basis. We offer a number of magazine pouches, and construct Kydex and Concealex products on a custom order basis. Additionally, we manufacture and market the Braid Heart line of knife, key ring and equipment lanyards which are offered both for wholesale and retail sale. In January 2008, Sniper Pro Shop began operation as a web-based retail and wholesale business. In addition to our product lines, SPS also is the sole owner of the curriculums for the Basic Police Sniper, Advanced Police Sniper, Law Enforcement Rifle Instructor, Law Enforcement Rifle, Advanced Tactical Rifle Operator, and Police Tactical Rescue Knife courses. Currently, these courses area only offered through hosting law enforcement agencies. SPS will work with any agency to set up an affordable hosting program for our courses.
We will also provide Armorer services for the Remington 700, AR-15, M-16 and Glock handguns. We are available to provide policy, incident and training consultation to any law enforcement agency on a contract basis. This will include expert witness and litigation support for police use of force incidents.
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?
It is our goal to eventually establish a full time training and support facility as well as to continue to expand our professional product line. As we move forward, we hope to offer premium training, products and services to armed professionals.
We believe that the Professional Trainer is a Force Multiplier, Train like you Fight and you WILL Fight like you Trained.

Products and equipment: SPS offers custom hand-crafted products and professional equipment as well as functioning as a product distributor for a multitude of other select professional law enforcement dealers.
Firearms training:
SPS commits to teaching sound techniques in marksmanship, weapon ergonomics, and motor skills laying a foundation upon which the student warrior can build a martial arts level of discipline and competence in weapons handling.
SPS commits to teaching sound tactical principles including Contemporary and relevant tactical principles in addition to marrying such current principles to those more ancient principles of tactics and warfare in order to develop a more skilled and knowledgeable warrior.
SPS training Associates, Adjuncts and Instructors will uphold the highest level of professional integrity and skill, setting the example for others to follow.
Technical, tactical, and consulting support: We believe that it is our duty to support those who come to us for training and guidance beyond the classroom and the range; to be there when they have a problem or question and to support them in the event that they are called upon to utilize the skills that we have instructed them in.
